CONVENIENT DAYTIME CLASSES FOR
PRE-SCHOOLERS AND HOME-SCHOOLERS
Tiamoyo Music Academy is a place where students of all ages can enjoy music.  Located in a peaceful, country-like setting, in the village of Woodmere, Ohio, Tiamoyo Music Academy is under the direction of Dr. Sharon Brown Cheston, educator, pianist, singer, ethnomusicologist, composer, author, conductor, wife, and mother.

"I really try to meet each student where he or she is in order to provide individualized, appropriate music instruction that coincides with the student's learning style.  I believe each student has a unique musical voice that awaits an opportunity for expression.  I value each student as a person, not just as a piano student and for their musical accomplishments."
Sharon Brown Cheston, Ph.D., Owner and Director

Music Time, a Suzuki-based music program established on the philosophies and concepts of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, is an exciting, eclectic, fun music curriculum that features developmentally appropriate activities for children to enjoy and explore music.  Infants and toddlers, along with their caregivers, will explore rhythmic finger plays, musical nursury rhymes, songs, musical dramatization, literature, and movement.  Students will use their voices, musical instruments, a variety of toys and props, and listening skills to explore various musical elements and things about themselves and our world.  Children will play rhythmic games and explore movement, such as those used in  Suzuki instrumental programs and in Dalcroze eurhythmics.  In addition, the music learning approaches of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, Dr. Edwin Gordon, Emile Jacques Dalcroze, Zoltan Kodaly, Carl Orff, and others will be used.  For more information on the aforementioned music learning approaches, please click on the links below.
Suzuki Kidz, is a fun, pre-school Suzuki instrument study preparatory program that, while extending the Music Time curriculum, introduces Suzuki concepts, including learning melodies of the repertoire in Suzuki Piano School and Suzuki Violin School, Volume 1, singing, listening, movement, drama, pre-notation Suzuki theory concepts, and hands-on experience with piano, violin, guitar, and recorder.
