Group Class

Piano group classes are in-person.
Theory group classes are VIRTUAL using Zoom.

In-Person Instructions (Virtual due to Covid 19)

1.  Please sign up for a group class time slot.

2.  If your child is a pre-schooler or would otherwise benefit from your assistance, you are welcome to stay with your child if you feel this is best for your child.  Otherwise, due to space limitations in the studio, we would prefer that you drop off your child.

3.  If you are staying with your child, please sign up for 2 spaces, one for your child and one for you, as space is limited and we would like to plan for your attendance.

4.  If you are signing up siblings, please use a separate sign-up slot for each child in order for us to get an accurate count.

Overview of Piano Group Class:

In addition to formal recitals, another component of the Suzuki private piano lesson is the Suzuki Piano Group Class. It is in the group class that students have the opportunity to hear one another perform in an informal setting. This setting allows the students to hear traditional piano repertoire and the Suzuki piano repertoire, which serves to reinforce the listening aspect of the Suzuki Method.  In addition, group class can motivate and inspire students to practice. Making new friends and knowing that “we are all in this together” are additional outcomes.

The three components of the group class are as follows:

1.  Piano Performance (solo and ensemble)

2.  Music History

3.  Music Theory

Group classes will be 40 minutes in length. Students of Tiamoyo Music Academy are divided into small groups of approximately 10 students. There are 10 minute breaks between each class to give students time to quickly clear the studio for the next group class.

Because of space limitations in the studio, parents are asked to drop off and pick up their students.  There are coffee shops, shopping in the area, and a library nearby.

Overview of Voice Studio Class:

In addition to formal recitals, another component of the private voice lesson is the Studio Voice Class. It is in the Studio Voice Class that students have the opportunity to hear one another perform in an informal setting. This setting allows the students to hear a wide range of vocal repertoire.
